How CV Villas levelled up their marketing campaigns…

To kick things off, Ben Briggs, Head of Marketing at CV Villas, a premium villa holiday specialist, explained how incorporating AI into their marketing campaigns helped to increase engagement from their target audience. The CV Villas team began using Perplexity, an AI-powered research tool known for its detailed outputs and reliable sourcing, as part of their marketing strategy.

They started feeding customer data from Mosaic, their classification model, which segments individuals based on different characteristics, into Perplexity. Next, they tasked it to rank which types of messaging would resonate most with each of their customer segments. The result? Highly-tailored messaging, suitable for different marketing channels, which increased engagement levels from their target audience. While Perplexity proved excellent at processing data and refining customer profiles, Ben highlighted an important point: AI may help to shape your marketing strategy, but finessing your messaging in an engaging way still requires human input.

How Adido’s AI toolkit simplified their workflow…

Next, Andy Headington, CEO at Adido, a digital marketing agency specialising in travel, explained how they’re using AI to better meet their clients’ needs. With the help of AI, Adido tackled one of their clients’ biggest challenges: understanding the effectiveness of customer phone calls. Using Relevance AI and a suite of supporting tools, they built a team of AI agents designed to analyse call centre audio files and transcripts, scoring quality with up to 88% accuracy. Instead of manually listening to every call, compliance teams could focus on the ones flagged by AI, saving hours while still maintaining high standards. Rather than replacing their jobs, this helps to make role of compliance teams simpler and straightforward.

Andy also explained how Adido use AI to help their clients level up their customer experience. Tools like HeyGen and Zapier help to deliver personalised video messaging to prospects who sign up to newsletters. With HeyGen, you can either create an avatar or upload your own video and tailor the messaging. Combined with Zapier, these videos are automatically sent just 15–20 minutes after a form is filled in. It’s a great example of how adding a human touch to the customer journey at scale can be effortless, with a little assistance from AI.

Lastly, Andy outlined how the team use AI to record itinerary preferences from prospective clients. Capturing relevant information and conveying it to their marketing team was a time-consuming process for Adido, but tools like OtterAI helped to speed up the process massively. The handy note-taker transcribes sales calls, analyses the responses and generates a clear, structured brief, ready for the marketing team to use. While its output isn’t perfect, OtterAI captures the key points, significantly reducing admin work for the Adido team. On average, it saves the team around an hour a week, which, at only £15 per month, is certainly a worthwhile investment!

In the first episode of our miniseries, we explored 3 powerful tools that can help travel businesses streamline content creation and supercharge their marketing efforts – without compromising on quality. Read on for the full low-down!

Tool 1: Ideogram

Ideogram is a powerful AI tool that transforms words into visuals in just a few seconds. Simply provide a prompt describing the image that you’d like, and Ideogram will generate a realistic, high-quality result in the style of your choice. Whether you’re searching for a life-like image or a vibrant, branded design, the creative applications of Ideogram are endless. Plus, if you’re not happy with the output, simply tweak your prompt and regenerate again and again!

It may bring ideas to life, but Perplexity’s AI is not magic, and can struggle to generate entirely accurate images of people and places. While it provides a creative shortcut, always be sure to double-check the output before hitting publish.

Tool 2: Runway

Ever wished you could generate engaging videos without spending hours editing? With Runway, that dream can be a reality! Using AI, Runway turns simple prompts and static images into fully-animated videos. Forget technical expertise, all you need is a clear vision to create dynamic video content with Runway.

For tour operators, the potential is limitless. Use Runway to bring destination images to life, transforming your marketing strategy and helping to sell trips – fast. Plus, if the output isn’t quite to your taste, you can tweak the prompt for a new result. Better yet, you can adjust the ratio of your existing videos to suit different platforms, breathing new life into old content. Perfect for websites, advertisements, social media posts – you name it!

Episode 2: Itineraries

Creating stunning, personalised travel itineraries takes time and effort. For many travel companies, this means hours spent fine-tuning every detail of a trip. But it doesn’t have to be that way! With the right AI tools, you can streamline the entire itinerary-building process – saving you time without losing the personal touch your clients love. Read on for our top recommendations for itinerary building tools.

Tool 1: Ask Layla

Ask Layla is a free travel planner, designed to make itinerary planning faster, simpler and stress-free. Whether you’re searching for destination insights or unique activity suggestions, this handy AI tool is the perfect way to kickstart ideas. Plus, you can even ask Layla to tailor itineraries to suit your clients’ preferences, helping to add a personal touch to your trips. Are your travellers food connoisseurs? Why not ask Layla to add a food tour or fine dining experience to the itinerary – client satisfaction guaranteed!

That said, Layla’s not quite ready to steal your job. Ask Layla to craft a school trip to Italy, and it may suggest a trip to a local vineyard and winery – not exactly an age-appropriate experience for 13-year-olds! While Layla is a great starting point for travel inspiration, it’s no match for your knowledge and experience. Don’t forget; you’re the travel expert, after all!

Tool 2: Grammarly

Grammarly is more than just a spell-checker, it’s like having a personal editor on hand, 24/7 – and when it comes to itinerary building, the possibilities are endless! The AI writing assistant can alter the tone of your writing, edit clunky phrases and adapt your tone of voice to suit your audience, whether they’re student travellers or luxury clients. Grammarly can even transform brief bullet-points into a day-by-day itinerary – all at the touch of a button.

Whether you need help drafting an email, creating a social media post or updating your website, Grammarly is by your side, no matter the channel. Better yet, Grammarly even works within Storyboard, Vamoos’ visual itinerary builder, so you can ensure your travel itineraries always hit the mark.

Tool 3: custom GPTs

I’m sure by now you’re familiar with ChatGPT; a game-changer for writing, editing and itinerary crafting. Using careful prompts and guidance, you can tailor ChatGPT’s output, ensuring it always meets the needs of you and your travellers. But here’s the catch – typing out detailed prompts is time-consuming, and could be slowing you down. What if there was an easier way?

That’s where custom GPTs come in. These frameworks can be created within ChatGPT, guiding the AI’s output. Add information about your preferred partners, your clients, your company’s tone of voice – anything and everything to ensure the perfect result every time. Spend less time tweaking and more time delivering polished, on-brand itineraries, without the faff. You can use custom GPTs for itineraries, emails and blog points; the options are limitless. Just don’t forget to double-check the facts, as there may be some inaccuracies.
